A Place of Peace

courtesy of

A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; (Psalm 91:5-10, NKJV)

Complete this famous thought. "My happy place is...

Some say their happy place is the beach. Some say the mountains. While there's absolutely nothing wrong with those pleasures, there's a happy place that's even greater. The happy place of peace. You know, I recently heard a quote that really resonated with me.

"Peace isn't the absence of conflict, peace is the presence of God."

These verses tell us that nothing shall come near to frighten us. Yes, we may be in a whirlwind of confusion, but God comes to us with His sweet peace.

Ladies, do you need God's Peace today? Let me encourage you….

Call out to Him!

Father, thank You for the sweet peace you offer to us freely. Thank you Lord for allowing us to come to You and not have to go through the priest anymore. Lord we love You and we praise You. Amen.

Glenda shares: This morning during my quiet time a song came to me which speaks volumes of what Psalm 91 is all about. Please click below and listen to Gaither Music, featuring Joy Gardner sing
"We Are Standing on Holy Ground".

  1. What a beautiful reminder this Thursday morning! I especially appreciated the verses from Psalm 91 - one of my favorite psalms. And you're so right...our happiest, most peaceful place is in the very presence of our awesome God. Thank you, Jamie and Glenda!

    1. Cathy,
Yes, we are in the presence of our awesome God and He is good...all the time and gives peace beyond measure. Thanks for stopping by...Jamie & Glenda

  5. Isn't it wonderful to think that the Presence of God is more than just a concept? We can literally run to Him and find peace. Sitting at His feet is a wonderful happy place for me. Jamie and Glenda, thank you so much. Y'all are doing a wonderful job with this study.

Beautiful piece, Jamie and Glenda . . . I love “peace isn’t the absence of conflict but the presence of God” . . . I remember years ago crying out to God for peace in the midst of the conflict. He reminded me the peace was right in the center, where He was . . . . oh, how we learn . . .
    In reply to Verna.

Beautiful. There is peace in no other name. Thank you for sharing this powerful message.

  8. I can think of several times when the peace I was experiencing didn't make sense to the world.

I can also recall many times when I didn't have peace...and yet it was available for the asking.

It's always there, ready to comfort us. The choice is up to us. Thank you for the reminder!
