Strength for the Weary Soul

Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength. (Isaiah 40:28-29, nkjv)

The tears pooled down my face in a steady stream. I felt like I couldn't endure the pain anymore. My soul was weary. My faith was shaken. My mind was a jumble of thoughts. Through a dear friend, I was reminded that though I was weary and tired, my God was there. My God wasn't, and would never grow weary. He sees my pain.

She brought my mind to the words of a familiar hymn. The hymn was "turn Your Eyes Apon Jesus." In this song, it speaks of being wear and tired. But, there's light in the darkness. Are you at aplace of wearyness today? Do you feel like you can't go on another step? Sweet sister, God is there. When you're powerless to go another mile, He gives you the strength.

Father, thank You for the strength you provide. Thank You for providing friends that point us back to you at our darkest moments. May each reader find their strength in You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
