"Be still and know that I am God..." (Psalm 46:10, NKJV)
How many times do we go about our day, totally ignoring the fact that God is trying to speak to us? The Lord has been teaching me lately to just sit still in His presence. Here's what the Lord has spoken to me, and I think it will encourage you as well.
"my child, why do you insist on running by me so fast? How can I pour my spirit's words into you in this way? Sit in my presence and let me teach you something new. Lay all your burdens and cares at my feet. Do this, and you will find the rest and restoration you long for."
Ladies, are we willing to just sit quietly in His holy presence? I know it will change our lives!
Father, help us to be still before You. Help us to slow down enough to taste of Your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Spending a quiet day in His presence today. Thanks for the reminder, Jamie -- Love you!!
ReplyDeleteJust what I needed this morning, Jamie! Blessings, Edie
ReplyDeleteThanks Jamie! Mary Jane
ReplyDeleteI love this verse! A former pastor had us go through an exercise using this verse. I'm sure it wasn't original with him but it went something like this:
ReplyDeleteMeditate on each line-
Be still and know that I am God
Be still and know that I am
Be still and know
Be still
It's a great way to sit in God's presence and wait for Him to speak.
Blessings, dear One!
Jamie, thank you for this beautiful reminder. I love what Cathy had to say too about breaking down each word and letting it saturate our spirit. These are powerful words straight from the Father's lips. He offers us the gift of peace if we would only listen. Love you!
ReplyDeleteSusan-Thank you so much for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteEdie-It blessed my heart to see your name pop up in my comments today! Thanks for all of your encouragement! Love you!
Cathy-thank you for stopping by! I loved the chalenge to break each part of the verse down! I see a series of posts coming in the future with this theme!
Nan-you bless my heart more than you know! Thank you for all you've taught me! Love you!
Thank you for this precious reminder. With all the demands for our attention sometimes it is easy to forget to just be still. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteJamie,
