Looking for God to do Something New?

Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:19, NKJV)

With a new year apon us, we hear a lot about people wanted something new. For some, it may be a weight loss. For some, it may be a new job. Or still, for some it may be a new car or house. But ladies, God is doing a new thing in us. It has nothing to do with material things; but it has to do with our heart. He says that "I'm doing a new thing in you." In this new year, what new thing will we allow Him to do?

Father, thank You for this new year you've allowed us to see. We ask for Your spirit to reign fresh in us. Whatever new thing You wish to do in us, may we be open to allow You to work. In Jesus name, Amen.

  1. One of the things I love to do is look back over the year and see what God has done. I am always surprised by things God does in me that I did not expect at the beginning of the year. Happy New Year, Jamie!

  7. I love this passage, Jamie. What a great reminder that He is always at work in us and through us. The past is gone, and yet we still carry it around like last year's dirty laundry, when God is saying to throw that trash away--He has made all things new!

    Looking forward to the new things He will do in each of us this year!

  8. Well, I posted a comment and it disappeared!

    I love this passage and use it often. The past is gone, and yet we often carry our sins around like last year's dirty laundry. But God tells us to throw it away because He is doing new things in and through us!

    I can't wait to see what new thing He will be doing in each of us this year!
