The Anointing That Saved Her Life

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. (James 5:14, NKJV)

The phone rang, and the call would save her life. You see, my friend was about to take her own life. She thought that life wasn't worth living anymore. Her circumstances had so clouded her mind, that she had thoughts of ending it...and if not for the phone call, she would have done exactly that.

But...

Jesus was poured back into my friend. Through the anointing of oil, my friend was brought back to life...to full life. What situation in your life seems so hopeless that you've throught of ending it. Maybe not ending it with pills or a gun, but ending it with God. You've thought of walking away, and if not for dear friends, you would've done exactly that. Let me encourage you, don't give up.

Father, thank You for your fresh manna. Thank You for bringing us back when we feel likeup. Please help my reader see that she has life...the best life in You. Amen. giving

  2. Jamie, this is so true!
I will be eternally grateful to people like you and Nan who have prayed through my dark moments. God has ALWAYS sent someone when I needed a human proof of His sweet care for me.

I once had a moment like the blog describes. I had ended the stormiest, sickest relationship ever, with a master of deception who was possessed by very evil seductive spirits (that's the only explanation I have for having felt attracted to him) and that left me on the brink of suicide or insanity.

It was at that very moment, when I began to think either God didn't exist or He hated me as much as I hated myself, that I met my husband. Doesn't sound logical at all. 99,99% of the guys would have fled as fast as they could. He stayed. I thought, This one's a keeper! In June, it will be 14 years together. He's been the most loyal, faithful, steadfast lover and friend apart from Jesus. And my heart's cry up to then had been to find a guy who would NEVER leave me!

  6. When all else fails and you , yourself, feel like a complete failure... when there is nothing but darkness, brick walls and cliffs, that is when God supplies His light. That light so often comes through the caring words from a friend. Sometimes, the person on the other end has no idea. But God does. Abba Father knows what is on our hearts and our distracted minds. He offers detours from the thoughts of suicide. I know, I have been there, disgraced yet saved through Grace. We all need to be praying for our friends and those who feel like they don't have any friends. If we could remember that we are all human..and all valuable. God created us to be loved. He has an unending supply. Let's love the unloveable..and let the unloveable know of His love. Let God be God....and be let us be His light for those who only see darkeness. Thank you for your wonderful post Jamie. Love you.
