Empty Places

O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water. (Psalm 63:1, NKJV)

As I read this verse this morning, I was able to see something that I've never noticed before.My mind went back to the story of the woman with the issue of blood. For 12 years, she tried to get help from every source available. She went to doctors. My guess is she probably tried all the home remedies that were given to her, and she may have even made some of her own. But then, something happened. She became desperate.She'd tried everything she could do humanoy possibly and she got nowhere. Finally, the day came. The day came where she was desperate enough to do anything. So she did what we all need to do. She came to the end of herself.She did whatever it took to get to Jesus, the one who she knew could heal her. She'd heard everyone in the town talking about Him, so she decided to see for herself.Just by touching the hem of His garment, her blood was dried up. Have you ever been in a place of total desperation? Have you ever been in a situation where you're willing to do whatever it takes to get relief? This woman was. Let's be like her. Let's be desperate enough to run to Him with our arms outstretched.

Oh God, let us come to that place of desperation. Let us come to the place where we say "I've done all I can, You take over." Thank You for meeting us right at the point of our need. In Jesus Name, Amen.
