Thank you s...Jamie, What a beautiful reminder here! Thank you so very much! What really struck me hard about this story is that during a woman's monthly menstrual cycle, back in these days, these women were sent out of the town to live else where until their cycle was finished. They believed these women to be dirty during the time they were indeed bleeding, and so this is why they were removed from the other people in their towns during this period every month. As I heard this background information I couldn't help but think how truly desperate she was to be back with her family and friends. Twelve years separated from your family and friends with only the once a month visit from mom, sisters and and other girlfriends friends while they to came to wait out the end of their cycle each month? I don't remember the exact details but it seems to me they had a special home right out side of the town where these woman once a month would go and live while on their menstrual cycle. For twelve years she couldn’t even see her father and brothers or any other males for this matter? And to think about seeing everyone once a month, they all come and then got to return home, but this girl was stuck there, she never got to go home. Oh how desperate she must have been to even take this great risk in breaking the law and coming back into that town, which couldn’t of been any easy task either, I mean everyone knew her or of her and so it wasn’t like she could just waltz into town unknown. And when you think of how she heard of the mighty healer, it would have been during the other woman’s visits during their monthly cycle. I love how our God brings these stories, in His word, forth for us..yes, desperate. Thank you for this beautiful reminder, to be desperate for this almighty and loving healer...who has come to heal our desperate souls and someday come back and take us all home. Blessings all over you sweet sister in the Lord!
